I am glad to report to the house that it was another great day for Team Benola this past Wednesday, 9th December 2015, when at the 285th Inaugural lecture of the University of Lagos, the Distinguished Professor in the Department of Paediatrics and Dean Faculty of Clinical Sciences, College of Medicine, University of Lagos Prof Afolabi Lesi, in his Paper Titled: "The Quest for the Smart Child: It's role in Nation Building", made pareticular mention of three Special People living with Cerebral Palsy: Benola's Ambassadors Uche Madueke & Busola Akinsola as well as Benola PPIT Member/Secretary Tobiloba Ajayi. In addition, the Eminent Professor also recognised four individuals/groups: 1) Dr Ade Odiakosa who in her 80's is still working with Children with Special Needs; 2) Dr Yinka Akindayomi of Children's Development Centre; 3) AVM & Mrs Gbadebo of Benola Cerebral Palsy Initiative; and 4) Nonye Nweke of Cerebral Palsy Centre Lagos, for being, "...true Champions, passionate and commited advocates of people with disabilities who deserve our support"
Also, following a prior invitation by the Professor, Benola's stand was conspicuously displayed at the foyer of lecture hall.
