Living with Cerebral Palsy: Why Benola's Advocacy is Focused on Parents!

About 6 years ago a concerned CP Mum contacted Benola after learning that her 22 year-old son living with Cerebral Palsy, which limited his ability to writing fast, would not be entitled to special consideration at his WAEC examination.

Subsequently we followed up on the issue and with the help of friends, including those in the Print Media, WAEC accepted to make allowances for him to have extra time and not only did he clear all his papers, he went on to record an outstanding performance at JAMB and secured admission into 4 Universities.

Fast forward to Friday, 14th January 2022, at the Convocation Ceremony of Fountain University Osogbo, one of our Feyisayo Abdulhameed aka @feyisayo_abdulhameed, 28 year old Cerebral Palsy Warrior and Graduate of Mass Communications, was recognised with the Award of, 'Best Graduating Student of 2020/2021 Session. He also received a Gift from the Traditional Ruler of Iragbiji, Oba Aragbiji, was recognised for his regular attendance at Solat Prayers in the University Mosque throughout his stay in the University and for serving as the PRO of LEO's Club, a pet project of the Vice Chancellor's wife.
