BENOLA'S 10TH NATIONAL CEREBRAL PALSY FAMILY FORUM

Saturday, 13th of August 2022 was another awesome day for Team Benola as we hosted the 10th National Cerebral Palsy Family Forum and the first large gathering of such families since the 2020/21 Covid Lockdown.

With over 110 Families, 15 Healthcare Professionals and 6 Speakers in attendance, the event was filled with fun activities, learning, memorable words like, 'I cannot come and go and Kill myself, by myself for myself' (Dr Boyo, Consultant Family Health Physician), and, 'I am a Celebrity' (Mrs Aaorode, CP Parent).

Our Co-founder Mrs Alaba Gbadebo said the Opening Prayer, while our Founder followed with a Welcome Address. Mr Anderson, IT Expert, spoke on use of Digital Technology, Mr Gabriel (Program Manager, Play Smart Concept) spoke on Play as a form of Therapy, Titi Tade (Consultant Medical Social Worker at Lagos University Teaching Hospital) spoke on the need for parents to also manage their own health and Boluwatife Adejobi, that awesome young man who recorded the best WAEC result in his school about 18 months ago, shared titbits from his CP experience.

In addition, lunch was served, the parents Networked, everyone Danced, Gift Packs containing Soft Food Items were shared to all and 8 children received Assisted Devices as recommended by the Physiotherapists.

Overall, to the Glory of God and our kind supporters, it was a day filled with fun, laughter and lots of memorable moments for which we remain ever greatful!
