Benola at The Vanguard Newspapers

Monday, 13th February 2017 was a truly memorable day in my life as I had the privilege of being hosted to a meeting over lunch with Veteran Journalist, Columnist and Founder of Nigeria's leading Newspaper, The Vanguard, Chief Sam Amuka-Pemu a.k.a Uncle Sam who incidentally was also Co - Founder of The Punch, the most widely read Newspaper in Nigeria. In the course of our discussion, I was both impressed by the humility as well as open display of compassion for the less privileged and poor state of health infrastructure in Nigeria that was displayed by the 82yr old gentleman who could easily pass for a 60yr old. At the end, Uncle Sam left me in the hands of the Editor Health Vanguard Media, Sola Ogundipe, with clear instructions to give full support to Benola's Advocacy Campaign. Indeed, it was a rare opportunity and one that I will treasure for years to come!

After a truly memorable meeting with Chief Sam Amuka-Pemu a.k.a Uncle Sam, Founder of The Vanguard Newspapers, I spent quality time with Sola Ogundipe, Editor Health Vanguard Media, discussing plans for Benola's 4th Anniversary and First Annual Symposium on Cerebral Palsy which comes up on 28th February 2017. We also explored ways in which Vanguard Media can give long term support to Benola's Advocacy Campaign after which we again met with Uncle Sam who endorsed Sola's recommendations. Indeed there are interesting days ahead and I only pray for strength to meet up with Uncle Sam's tall expectations of me.
