In the morning of Oct 6th 2017 at the Muson Centre was Benola's 1st Public Lecture on Cerebral Palsy. In attendance were the Minister of Health - Prof Issac Adewole, who gave the keynote address of The Vice President and chaired by elder statesman Dr Christopher Kolade. Also in attendance were Adesuwa Onyenokwe, the gorgeous Benola Ambassadors, Shuga band and a lot of other Trail Blazers in the field of disability advocacy.

There are 17 million people across the world living with cerebral palsy (CP). Another 350 million people are closely connected to a child or adult with CP. It is the most common physical disability in childhood. CP is a permanent disability that affects movement. Its impact can range from a weakness in one hand, to almost a complete lack of voluntary movement. It is a complex disability: 1 in 4 children with CP cannot talk, 1 in 3 cannot walk, 1 in 2 have an intellectual disability, 1 in 4 have epilepsy.* CP is a lifelong disability and there is no known cure.

Blazing Heart Autism Centre was at the 1st Public Lecture in commemoration of World Cerebral Palsy Day in Lagos, organised by Benola;A Cerebral Palsy Initiative

And later was a meeting with the Festus Fajemilo Foundation and the hardworking nurses from ShineUKcharity who came to do a great job of training in the area of Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus.

We had fun taking pictures on the Green carpet. You all crowned the day for us with all your well wishes, prayers and love. It was overwhelming and we are grateful.
