Saturday, 27th July 2019: For years now, Ambassador Uchena Madueke has been hosting Bi-Annual workshops for CP Families in Jos, most of who attend with their children, and I have been fortunate to attend a few times. So I was a bit apprehensive when she informed me that, she wanted only parents at this particular event and had the sent word out. To my surprise, not only did we have a good turn out, the Q & A Session was candid and robust with many of the parents sharing their deepest concerns.

The star question for me was an elderly gentleman who after voicing his concerns about the future of his male CP child asked Uche had ever had a man propose to her and amidst mumurings from the audience who felt the question was inappropriate, Uche cheerfully said, 'I will answer that!' and went on to explain that indeed, there are men out there who merely want to take advantage of ladies like herself, a few of whom she had run into along the way and while she has not giving up on the chances of meeting the right man, she was determined to continue living her life to the fullest, one day at a time and to the Glory of God.

To say the audience loved her response would be an understatement and proved once again why Uche calls herself, 'Omoge for life!' At the end of the day, the look on everyone's face clearly showed that indeed, it was time well spent. Very well done Uche and more of God's richest blessings upon your life and vision for Cerebral Palsy in the years ahead!
