During the run up to the 2015 Presidential Elections, both President Buhari and Vice President Osibanjo, recognizing the strength of the 26 million strong Nigerian Disability Community interacted with them and promised wide-ranging improvements to Disability Management in Nigeria. Within the 1st year of his Administration, the President announced the appointment of a Senior Special Adviser on Disability in the Presidency, followed 2 years later by signing into law, the 2018 Special Persons Bill and finally we now have a National Commission for Persons with Disability ably manned by Persons living With Disability (PWDs). So, with great pleasure, we at Benola join well meaning Nigerians to congratulate the Chairman and Members of the Commision, as well as the Nigerian Disability Community on this awesome development. We also seize the opportunity to say a big thank you to Mr President for keep true to his campaign promises!
