On Friday 5th March 2021, when Mrs Bukola Ikudaisi, who happens to be living with Cerebral Palsy came with her husband Teofek all the way from Mushin to have a long awaited session with AVM Femi Gbadebo OFR aka @BenolaBoss.
Bukola, a recipient of Benola's Cash Palliatives in August 2020 is a proud mother to a 2year old boy, Oluwasindara, graduate of Federal College of Education Special Oyo State and currently a final year student of the National Open University where she is studying Education Studies in early Childhood Education.
Immediately after benefitting from the Parliatives, she requested for an audience with @benolaboss, which could not hold due to the Covid-19 Lockdown. However, she remained undaunted and the opportunity finally came, and despite receiving the sad news of the death of her elder sister that morning, she showed up clutching her credentials and with her husband in tow.
Benolaboss shared his experiences, including how he once knew nothing about his son's condition and had to read up on the subject in order to build his capacity and use Benola Cerebral Palsy Initiative as a platform to spread awareness about the condition.
He spoke about the different jobs that people with disabilities can acquire and how hard work allows for progress in their jobs/careers.
He also talked about how Bukola the adult living with CP can do interviews with confidence and quickly. He adviced Mr Teofek to be supporting his wife in all her endevours.
Bukola is christian, while her husband is Muslim, but that has not affected their relationship.
The founder talked about the importance of the couple sharing their CP story to help others in similar condition which can even be a job for them.
He spoke about the importance of social media in sharing their story and experiences.
He finally remarked on the importance of God in their lives and shares Benola publications with them.
The meeting ended with a brief photoshoot and both parties having gained a lot in the interaction.
