Retired Air vice-marshal (AVM) Femi Gbadebo (OFR), Founder/CEO of BENOLA, a Cerebral palsy (CP) Initiative, in this interview with CHIOMA UMEHA speaks on lingering low knowledge about CP, stigma against people living with the disease in the country and the role of governments and the private sector in promoting inclusiveness of people with disabilities in the Nigerian society. Excerpts:

Every disability, particularly intellectual disabilities can easily be detected through failures in the attainment of milestones that a child would normally achieve in days, weeks, months, etc. So once a child fails to meet any of these milestones, it is an indication of a possible problem and that is when one is supposed to approach the right medical authorities for help.
