It started last weekend with a broadcast by My Governor @jidesanwoolu of Lagos State, alerting citizens to the outbreak and spike in cases of Covid-Delta variant in the State. In quick succession, the University of Lagos and Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) issued press statements to the effect that Halls of Residence at the University have been closed and B block at LUTH that was closed after the first wave has been reopened and is now full,
Government is no more sponsoring treatments and Oxygen which is critical to staying alive is in short supply.
Therefore, though wearing of face mask/shield, maintaining social distancing and regular washing of hands may be discomfiting, contracting the virus is not only more so, it could actually cost you your life plus, this 3rd Wave is much more deadly.
So as you Thank God It's Friday and are looking forto a refreshing weekend, do make out time to educate family and friends who are and the weak link in the Covid circle.
