HANGOUT WITH THE BOSS 6/21: Why you should Hangout with the Boss this Saturday, 31st July 2021.
When we started our advocacy campaign a little over 9 years ago, our expectation was that we would soon find more parents standing up for the rights of their children living with Cerebral Palsy because, experience managing our son, Olaoluwa, had shown us beyond reasonable doubt that, no one, not even doctors or therapists and educators who help treat or manage such children get to spend quality time with them.
In other words, parents who are with them 24/7 tend to know and understand their condition and needs better than anyone else and the only way to draw the attention of government and private sector organizations to their unigue story and how to provide a better life for them is through Advocacy.
Yet sadly 9 years down the line, only a hand full of such parents have joined the advocacy train while many therapists and special schools continue to cash-in on the innocence of Special Parents whose only focus is on what their children cannot do and possibly how to 'fix' them.
This is why the topic of this months Hangout, 'OWNING AND SHARING YOUR STORY' should be of particular interest to YOU.
So, Parents, Siblings, Caregivers and Special Educators, come armed with your questions and together, let's build necessary capacity about this unique condition!
