We are proud parents of Olaoluwa, a male child born on 14 June 1996 and diagnosed at birth as having developmental delays, later confirmed to be Cerebral Palsy.
Though fully dependent, he is in good spirits with a positive out-look on life that never ceases to amaze all who come in contact with him.
Through Olaoluwa, we have come to see first-hand, the tremendous potentials in a child living with Cerebral Palsy, the complexities of managing an individual living with the condition, the difficulties in assessing proper care in a developing country and the stress which the condition places on family members and carers.
An Officer of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (OFR), AVM Gbadebo is a retired military officer, a Qualified Instructor Pilot on Military Jet Aircraft as well as a graduate of the German Command and Staff College, Hamburg, Germany, the Indian National Defence College, New Delhi, India and Lagos Business School (LBS), Lagos Nigeria.
The AVM who once held command at the highest level in the Nigerian Air Force served at various times as Chief Instructor Pilot at NAF Basic Flying Training School and the Commanding Officer at NAF Instructor Pilot School, both in Kano, Nigeria. He was also at various times a Directing Staff at Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, Nigeria and a Facilitator at National Defence College, Abuja Nigeria.
The AVM who retired in 2008, is widely travelled and currently:
A 1982 graduate of University of Lagos, Alaba holds a BA (Hons) degree in History. After her National Youth Service in 1982, she was a lecturer in the History Department of Kano State College of Arts and Remedial Studies where she served for 10 years, retiring voluntarily in 1995.
Alaba who has been in business for over 20 years, managing and serving on the Boards of a number of private businesses, was also at various times Member, Secretary and President of various chapters of Nigerian Air Force Officers Wives Association, before becoming a National Vice President of the Association.
A former Chairperson of Ikoyi Baptist Church Prison Ministry, Alaba who has a passion for helping the less privileged, participates in workshops and conferences on social issues and since 1998, has been actively engaged in philanthropic work with the following agencies:

Alaba who loves reading, walking and watching medical documentaries, is happily married to AVM Femi Gbadebo with three children the last of whom is Olaoluwa, a 28 year old, fully dependent young man, living with Cerebral Palsy.
